Please Note:
Children are required by US law to be 13 years old to join most social media and online services due to the “Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act” (COPPA), which protects data collected from children under 13.
While 13 is the legal threshold, many organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), recommend waiting longer to introduce social media due to potential negative impacts on sleep, body image,
and mental health, with some parents joining the “Wait Until 8th” movement to delay access until at least eighth grade.
